Founded in 2020, Tulip Tech develops high-energy battery systems and power electronics for unmanned aerial, ground, and underwater vehicles. The Netherlands-based company designs, integrates, and manufactures battery packs that help drone platforms fly farther, stay airborne longer, and operate more effectively in demanding missions. Tulip’s solutions are assembled in Europe and include high-density battery packs, custom packs designed around a vehicle’s form factor, and smart battery systems with integrated management capabilities.
Bernd started Tulip Tech as a spinoff from an electric aviation company, initially focused on advancing sustainable flight. Today, the company applies that energy-storage expertise to a fast-growing defense and security need: dependable, high-performance power for unmanned systems. Tulip Tech has scaled its production to support European defense and civilian drone platforms, producing and delivering more than 100,000 battery packs in a single month for the first time this year.
In this episode, Bernd will discuss how battery technology can expand the range, endurance, and mission capabilities of unmanned aircraft. Tulip Tech’s high-density battery systems are designed to deliver 30% to 100% more flight time than standard packs, helping operators get more from their platforms.
The conversation will also explore the need for a resilient Western supply chain for mission-critical drone power, as Tulip Tech scales its battery production and supports defense, security, and commercial unmanned systems in Europe and the United States.
Tune in to hear how Tulip Tech is advancing high-density energy systems for unmanned vehicles, and why the future of autonomous operations may depend as much on the battery as on the aircraft itself, as we close out Teal-sponsored “Tech for Mission Success” month.
