About This Resource
This free, printable drone safety tri-fold was developed by Influential Drones in direct response to requests from law enforcement partners who needed a simple, field-ready handout for drone-related encounters. It was intentionally created without branding because drone safety is a shared responsibility — bigger than any single company, agency, or organization.
The document covers:
- Recreational flying rules under 49 U.S.C. § 44809 and the TRUST requirement
- Commercial operations under FAA Part 107, including certification, LAANC, night operations, and operations over people (OOP)
- Agricultural drone operations and additional requirements under Part 137, including EPA and state applicator considerations
- Airspace access, controlled airspace restrictions, and Remote ID requirements
- Stadium and special use airspace (SUAS) restrictions, emergency response scene protocols, and temporary flight restrictions (TFRs)
- FAA fines, penalties, and what a drone pilot should do when contacted by law enforcement or the FAA

Why a Single-Page Handout Matters
FAA drone regulations are spread across statutes, rulemaking, safety programs, and operational categories — and they don’t always live in one accessible place. Recreational flyers, commercial operators, and agricultural applicators each operate under different rules, and many members of the public don’t know which category applies to them.
This tri-fold puts the most commonly needed public-facing information in one plain-language document. It helps officers and public safety personnel stay consistent in their messaging without reciting regulations from memory during a roadside stop, park encounter, or event response.
Education also matters beyond enforcement. When agencies want to prevent incidents before they occur, a clear handout gives drone operators and community members something to take with them, review later, and share with others.
