Nebli Puts the Live Drone Picture at the Center of Operations

A drone pilot in the field may have the clearest view of an unfolding incident, inspection site or security perimeter. The people who need to make decisions, however, often sit somewhere else. They may work from a command post, an operations center, a client office or a partner agency. Too often, they receive video late, in fragments or through an improvised setup involving a phone, a laptop and a screen share. Nebli has built its cloud operations platform around closing that gap. Rather than treating live video as one item in a broad fleet-management feature list, the company focuses on getting the live picture and related telemetry from the field to the people who need it in a browser.

The most common problem with live drone video does not always sit inside the video platform. It often starts with the cellular connection between the field and the people watching elsewhere. Coverage varies, bandwidth changes and operational teams must work with the networks available at the scene. Nebli has designed its product around those real-world conditions. 

“Live video has become essential to how field teams coordinate, but access to that picture still breaks down at the exact moment it matters most,” said Nelson Melo, CEO of Nebli. “We built Nebli to make the handoff from pilot to decision-maker much more direct.”

The company recently published a vendor-neutral field guide to live drone video that explains how video travels from a pilot in the field to remote viewers, what each transmission path carries and why the cellular link often creates the weakest point in the chain. The guide also documents its figures and includes cited bench measurements, which makes it a useful resource for teams that want to understand why a feed drops before they try to solve the problem.

That focus shapes Nebli’s product strategy. The platform aims to help teams get video to a browser quickly, while keeping the pilot in command of the aircraft.

A Browser Link for the Team

Nebli supports public safety, security and inspection teams that need remote personnel to see and act on live information. A team can bind a DJI aircraft from its controller, then provide live video and telemetry to authorized viewers in a browser. The platform also supports camera control handoff, cloud recording, real-time detection alerts and view-only links for partners.

The distinction between camera control and aircraft control matters. A pilot remains in command of the aircraft, while the team can hand off control of the camera to help a remote viewer inspect a scene or focus on a point of interest.

“Operational teams should not have to create an integration project every time someone outside the field needs situational awareness,” Melo said. “The goal is to let the people at the scene keep flying while the right people elsewhere can see what is happening and contribute to the mission.”

Nebli also records flights to the cloud and lets teams share a view-only link with partners. That approach can give an incident commander, client or collaborating agency access to the same operational picture without requiring them to install specialized software.

Two Paths for DJI Drone Streaming

For DJI users, Nebli offers two distinct paths that depend on the controller and app rather than the aircraft alone.

Pilots on DJI’s enterprise line can sign in to Nebli through a controller running DJI Pilot 2. After the team binds the aircraft to its account, viewers can receive live video and telemetry in a browser, with camera control available for handoff.

Pilots using DJI Fly can stream by pasting a Nebli stream address into the app’s custom RTMP field. This path provides live video to browser viewers. DJI Fly uses a combined RTMP address field, so the pilot must paste the full address, including the trailing stream-key path, into that single field.

For DJI users, the key question is not only which drone they fly, but which controller they use. Controllers running DJI Pilot 2 can connect through Nebli’s enterprise workflow. Controllers using DJI Fly can send a live feed when the app includes its Live Streaming option. The basic DJI RC does not support this route because DJI Fly does not offer live streaming on that controller. Supporting Mixed Fleets

Nebli does not require teams to standardize on one drone ecosystem. Alongside DJI enterprise and consumer workflows, the platform supports PX4 and ArduPilot aircraft, as well as RTSP cameras. For those systems, an operator runs a small relay through a command-line interface or desktop application. Remote viewers still receive the feed through a browser link.

That model can help organizations that already operate a mixed fleet, or that use fixed cameras alongside uncrewed aircraft. Instead of forcing every asset into a single hardware or software stack, Nebli gives teams a common place to view available live feeds.

The company’s product direction centers on depth in the specific operational task of helping live video survive weak networks, reach remote viewers and support collaboration through camera control, detection alerts, recording and sharing.

For public safety, security and inspection teams, the value of drone video depends on more than capturing a sharp image. The picture must reach the people who need it, in a form they can use, while the operation is still underway. Nebli’s focus on browser-based access, mixed-fleet support and field-ready streaming reflects a simple operational need: help the right people see the right live view without turning every deployment into a technical project.

Nebli is working toward a broader launch in early 2027.
