AI is now enhancing the capabilities of X-RAY machines used in security checkpoints like airports and other sensitive site.
Israeli company NeuralGuard developed this AI capability
According to Raviv Pavel the company’s CTO and cofounder traditional screening relies heavily on human operators, who are affected by fatigue, distraction, varying experience and inconsistent training .
Pavel told Autonomy Global that the addition of AI to existing systems provides consistent, repeatable analysis on every image.
”We add automatic AI based threat detection to existing X-ray machines and connect screening operations through the Neural Screening Platform for centralized management, analytics, remote screening, and automation ”.
Pavel said that existing customers report 90 % reduction in screening errors, and up to 300 % increase in throughput, and greater visibility and control for security managers across the entire screening operation
According to NeuralGuard its technology is vendor-agnostic and works across multiple X-ray manufacturers.
Neural Guard technology is deployed in operational sites screening operations across major security organizations and high-profile sites worldwide, including Ben Gurion and Ramon airports in Israel ,
The AI addition is also used for employee screening at Denver, Orlando, Portland, Oakland airports.
It is also deployed in 100+ checkpoints across Washington, D.C., including the U.S. Capitol complex
The AI add-on is also used by various law enforcement and correctional felicities across theU.S
The experts say that AI analyzes complex scans in a fraction of a second (often under 0.2 seconds), helping lines move faster and reducing passenger wait times at busy checkpoints.
The AI, according to the experts helps advanced object classification and multi-energy data analysis to distinguish harmless items (like electronics or toiletries) from actual threats, lowering false-positive rates.
