WISPR Systems Unveils SkyScout 2 and SkyScout 2+

Next-generation drones engineered for precision, durability, compliance

Batesville, Mississippi – Sept. 10, 2025 – WISPR Systems, an American-made leader in drone technology, today announced the launch of the SkyScout 2 and SkyScout 2+, the newest evolution of its flagship SkyScout platform. Designed with input from professionals in surveying, mapping and inspection, the new models deliver greater performance, resilience and operator control while maintaining the reliability that has made WISPR one of the most trusted names in U.S.-based drone manufacturing.

“SkyScout 2 represents a leap forward in precision drone technology,” said John McArthur, VP of sales and marketing at WISPR Systems. “From advanced collision avoidance to IP-tested durability and robust health monitoring, these upgrades give professionals the confidence to fly further, safer and more efficiently.”

Key Enhancements to SkyScout 2 and SkyScout 2+:

S Port quick-attach system that streamlines payload integration by combining power and data into a single interface with a new increased payload capacity without sacrificing flight time with a payload capacity of 3.65 lbs. (1.65 kg.).

TempGuard Dynamic Climate Control that intelligently regulates airflow to keep components at peak operating temperature even in extreme hot or cold environments.

SmartCore Smart Power Distribution System with redundant management ensures clean, reliable power delivery and built-in protection against potential battery failures for maximum flight safety.

● Precision Terrain Follow system with WISPR’s TerrainSense which delivers unmatched altitude accuracy, enhancing high-altitude terrain mapping and providing reliable low-altitude guidance where GPS and barometers fall short.

PathGuard Long Range Obstacle Detection system with front and rear obstacle sensors with a 164-ft range helps protect the aircraft during mapping missions and manual flight, keeping forward flight and return paths safe.

SignalShield, which is an Advanced EMI shielding, protects critical avionics from electromagnetic interference allowing operators to safely fly closer to power lines, cell towers and other sources without compromising control, reliability or data integrity.

Plus, the SkyScout 2+ features the WISPR SkyBoss smart controller, which combines a sunlight-readable 7” display with 2000-nit brightness in a rugged design that meets MIL-STD-810 drop standards and IP55 weather protection. Secure AES-256 encrypted transmission ensures mission integrity, while multiple roll wheels, hot-swappable batteries and up to 6 hours of runtime keep pilots in control all day.

“With SkyScout 2+, we wanted to reimagine not only the aircraft but the operator experience,” McArthur said. “Our new controller, the WISPR SkyBoss, empowers professionals to work faster, longer and with the confidence that only WISPR innovation can provide.”

The SkyScout 2 is available now, and the SkyScout 2+ will be available in early October through WISPR Systems and authorized distributors.
