Unseenlabs Reveals Hidden Activity in the West Philippine Sea with RF intelligence that cuts through contested waters, making China’s presence more visible.
UnseenLabs released a new use case in the West Philippine Sea, a region where overlapping sovereignty claims and gray-zone tactics make transparency critical. Through two RF data collection campaigns, the company detected and geolocated:
- 25,593 RF positions in total
- ≈ 7% of RF-only positions (vessels not reporting AIS)
- 92% of vessel activity in the Dangerous Ground missed by AIS
- 1 prominent Chinese Coast Guard vessel, continuously tracked even when its AIS went dark
